Abstract

In this paper I defend, and at the same time somewhat rectify, my “limbo theory” which was designed to solve certain problems associated with metaphysical frameworks that conceive logical individuals as bare ‘hangers’ shared by all possible worlds. I argue that insisting that individuals are inherently physical (spatiotemporal) forces us to give up the assumption that we can keep epistemological control over the identity of the individuals.

Keywords

Bare individuals, logical individuals, possible worlds, transparent intensional logic
