Človek v štruktúrach spoločnosti a kultúry. Inšpirácie myslením Františka Novosáda
The collective volume deals with topical issues from the areas of philosophical anthropology, social philosophy, and philosophy of culture. The authors do not approach these areas as disjunct sets, rather they acknowledge that the areas often intersect, and their mutual dialogue contributes to productive philosophical problem-solving. An important presupposition for a complex response to the fundamental anthropological question What is man? is a consideration of man’s social and cultural rootedness. Social and cultural structures, in which man finds himself and forms his identity, thus represent a crucial object of scrutiny. The problem of man and humanity emerges in different forms with the authors approaching it both in a descriptive and a normative way. The description of the dynamics of man’s self-formation makes it possible to ask the question, which of them lead to a strengthening of the coordination between individuals and groups, to the actualization of their potential and to an implementation of the principle of humanity as equality and respect. The reflection on man’s place in the world and on relevant forms of humanity requires, however, also the analysis of the negative pole of human coexistence and the identification of factors that cause disintegration of relations. Only in this way we can propose new modes of overcoming destructive dynamics. Synergy of philosophical anthropology, social philosophy, and philosophy of culture is a characteristic feature of the thought of František Novosád from which the authors draw inspiration.
