Annotation:

The interested student will focus on the history of Hegelian thought immediately after Hegel's death and will analyze the strand of Hegelianism that is referred to as the Junghegelianer (Young Hegelian School). It will concentrate on portraying Hegel's own influence on the formation of Junghegelian philosophy and at the same time on the individual contributions of the representatives of this school of thought (Strauß, Feuerbach, Stirner, Ruge). He will specifically evaluate the concept of left-wing neo-Hegelianism in the so-called Berlin Club of Doctors, to which Marx and Engels belonged. The aim of the thesis is to contribute to a deeper, ideologically unbiased understanding of the philosophy of the Young Hegelians. Knowledge of the German language is essential.
