In Helmuth Plessner's anthropology of the actor role we can find methodological and thematic sources for the investigation of performativity, which are based on his concept of the so-called excentric positionality and the three anthropological principles (natural artificiality, mediated immediacy and utopian standpoint). On this basis, questions of corporeality and expressivity, how one takes roles (incarnates in roles) in both personal and public space, can be examined more closely. Further impulses for the elaboration of this theme are to be found in Plessner's social-philosophical and art-scientific analyses, as well as in other analyses in the field of philosophical anthropology.
