The project will examine the notion of human subjectivity (that of the individual and the collective) in the context of philosophical anthropology, phenomenology and poststructuralism. We plan to work on reinterpretations of classical authors and then discuss contemporary theories of modern thinkers. Keeping in mind that the question of subjectivity is related to the question of what it is to be a human being in general, we will be interested in an examination of the question more narrowly in the various contexts of politics, aesthetics and religion. We will attempt to apply this specifically to the Central European experience.
